One can probably add to the list of transgressions drunk in charge but that is more difficult to bring to court. I wonder if he had Third Party Insurance? Unfortunately this was the first successful prosecution for this type of offence in the Solent area for many years. However almost on a daily basis during the summer one sees more cases of people using high-speed craft with little experience; almost zero knowledge of the collregs and how to apply them, and a cavalier attitude to boating under the influence of drink or drugs. I hope most sincerely that this case receives maximum media coverage to deter other potential nautical cowboys, and that a policy of education not legislation is examined for re-assessment of validity.

I managed to get in the wheelhouse of both one of the Redjets and the hovercraft when I used to live part time on the island.

I can’t believe how they do it every day! And both visits the traffic was light.
