I was on the back of a moped taxi in Phnom Penh shortly after they got their first traffic lights, no one took any notice, I was told it was considered effeminate to do otherwise. After that, I walked!

when you consider the $$$$ (£50k) it costs to install traffic lights, the Indian 'natural traffic flow management' makes good sense.

eg: In the UK, installing lights on a roundabout; get a Life!:D

Their natural traffic flow management works quite well, if it was a junction in London there would be traffic jams in all direction caused by bad traffic light phasing!

Have to agree on that. There's a very large junction/roundabout a couple of miles north of the M3 junction4. There are always jams there and can be very slow to cross at any time of day...

Except when the lights are out of action! :encouragement:
