Early morning check, and plan to bring back Murvs boat to civilisation have come a cropper due to river and weather conditions.Even if we could get the old girl down to Teddington the rest of the journey would be debatable due to forecast, especially with boat being an unknown quantity etc.
Too many tales of muck being stirred up after long Thames residency and the not very enticing prospect of changing diesel filters while bouncing around somewhere off Canvey.
St Kats is not the cheapest place to leave your boat for a week either if we need somewhere to abort journey.
Lets hope the next couple of weeks give decent flow/weather window.
Suspect Murv will be still going to do few jobs on the boat today however.
Me...Back of to bed now. :(

A HUGE thanks for all your work Fred in assessing the journey, I hope you manage to get a nice lay-in at some point this weekend!

A wise decision with an unknown boat.
The level is dropping rapidly further up though so you should be able to go in the next couple of days.

Met up with Murv and B1.Had good natter over a pint.Absolutely foul day and would most certainly preferred not to have been on any flybridge anywhere under those conditions.
Going to have another look this weekend.
Let Murv doing his best to get all the jobs done that he should have been doing while down in the pub.

And a very pleasant day it was too!
Didn't get too much else done. Sadly, the overheat alarm sender was also the wrong part...
Still, it was a good test to do the overnighter, and made it extremely clear just how important it is to get the Eberspacher installed before the weekend!
Some very low temps forecast this week so left the tube heaters under the engines.

We popped down to Chertsey bridge on the way back, I was interested to see what the fabled bridge which has claimed a few casualties over the Years actually looks like.
Not sure I would have been brave enough to go through at the speed needed to keep some steerage
