The small map shown on the site has the information that any areas for which there are strong wind warnings, will be shaded red.
Their forecast shows 6 to 8, perhaps 9 for the Bristol channel area over the next 24 hours.
Surely this is strong enough to be a "strong wind" ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Yet there are no red areas around the English/Welsh coast !!!
I bring this matter up as it is not an unusual accurrence on their new website. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
It would not pay to have a brief look at the site, if the weather was to be severe.

Probably just a timing issue about when the formal strong wind warnings and gale warnings are issued. They've issued a gale warning for your area;

<ul type="square"> Lundy
Gale warning 1002 Sat 03 Mar
Southeasterly severe gale force 9 expected later
Shipping forecast 1130 Sat 03 Mar
Wind Southwest 4 or 5 backing south or southeast 7 to severe gale 9.
Weather Showers then rain.
Visibility Good becoming moderate, occasionally poor.
Sea State Moderate or rough becoming very rough. [/list]

The red areas indicate weather warnings, and are not linked to the forecasts like you suggest. They take into account all weather, temperature, wind, precipation, time of year, etc to base their warnings on.

"red areas indicate weather warnings".

In the forecast for coastal areas - it doesn't seem to be so from the information on the website. The last time it happened, they did apoligise. My point is that it is obviously not a priority for them and so I shall stop making use of it.
Thanks, Csail and Sgeir - i do use other sources as I am becoming more nervous as the years go by !!

Nearly every time I've looked at the site, over the last few months anyway, the coast is red all the way round!
Just seems to have been very windy recently.
Hoping it's going to be replaced by Force 4's from now onwards.
