Note that it is hardly storm conditions but nonetheless (having broken Rule No 1 - dont unhitch until you are in the companionway) the casualty is swept under the guard rail!

They send man overboard in a harness to retrieve the casualty - no-one ever suggested that to me before. Makes a lot of sense if you have a big enough crew.

They appear to try to recover them both via a hoist over the stern quarter presumably using a block attached to the end of the boom. Looks quite practised and organised.

BUT....Tom Cunnliffe covers in the December YM and basically rules out a straight hoist via a harness on the basis that it squeezes the chest. However, it seems to me that it you are set up for it and assuming you have some kind of arrangement rigged to an electric windlass or winch it I think this would be a very quick method of recovery it if is well practised.

Any thoughts welcome..............
