Yacht 'Bonnie II' has been recovered from the sea wall at Suffolk Yacht Harbour after the gales last week, but so far there has been no joy in finding the owner.

Harwich VTS, ABP Ipswich, Wolverstone & Kings have been contacted but cannot shed any light on this.

Can anyone here help?

if so please call SYH 01473 659 240 and ask for Bob.

Very surprising that the owner has not noticed she has gone walkabout.

One comment is that she appears to have a Broads registration number G205, perhaps the Broads Authority might be able to identify the owner?

Perhaps worth contacting the sailing/yacht clubs on the river, such as Pin Mill SC, Stoke SC, Royal Harwich YC, which have their own moorings.

There is/was a Leisure 17 on a mooring just off the gap in the sea wall for the HHA 'habitat creation' just downstream of Suffolk Yacht Harbour.

I wonder if it could have been from there? (don't know why operates those moorings)

There is another yacht ashore on the North shore opposite Pin Mill (ish) Saw it from RHYC today, not sure when it got there, looks 30+ft or so. Could be tricky to recover from there?

Lots of yachts still on moorings on the Orwell, I agree though, no way I would leave mine out. Many insurers won't allow it anyway.

Not that many a couple of days ago though - less than a dozen.
That Yank boat was still there though (Windharp or something).
Does that boat ever move? Never seen it about - or seen anyone aboard.
Anyone know what the story is?
Or what's the story behind that red hulled boat moored off Shotley?

Saw someone on it once this year... Last time I saw it moving was on the woolverstone slipway back in 2009 (I think) being tarted up - obviously now its back to its original state!

Do you mean the thing that looks like a hull of a MTB with 3masts tacked on top ? , well I can remember seeing it as a teenager in the late 70's whilst sailing with my parents , I was told then it was something to do with HMS GANGES (naval training establishment at Shotley )

Maybe a visit to the museum would shed some light or maybe one of the Shotley marina residents might know .....................

Windharp belongs to a neighbour, he and his family took a year out a few years back and did sail across the Atlantic in her. He is a busy self employed joiner and what with a growing family and practically rebuilding his cottage himself he does not have a lot of time to sail.

The red hulled "Schooner" at Shotley is I am told an ex-RN Harbour defence launch that was converted to sail. It has been there for as long as I can remember, ? around 25 years or so.

I have seen it off its mooring once, I can't now recall if any sails were set. I have occasionally seen someone on board.
