I’m about to service my new to me Yanmar (in the Solent) and would welcome recommendations on best supplier of usual bits; filters, belts, impeller and so on.

Thanks in anticipation.

Filters and belts will all be readily available from your preferred local or online Auto-parts store, just give them the Yanmar part number to match.
If yours is a Yanmar GM engine, then let me know, as I have details somewhere including a huge list of the oil/fuel filter equivalents, along with the engine belt lengths & reference numbers. I even have details of the bearings and seals needed for the seawater pump; that's a biggie - about £15 for the lot using good quality, rather than Yanmar's £80 for cheap junk and that price was ten years ago, so they probably want >£100 now.

Yanmar engines used in loads of applications inc diggers and fridge units on trucks.

The impellor is made by Johnstone on the 3YM30 so easy to source OEM parts at a fraction of chandler/Yanmar boaty shops.

You need to be a bit careful about ordering those for GM engines and perhaps YM's too, as there are two types; the E for Euro version of the engine using a different seawater pump to the rest of the world. The pumps themselves are interchangeable, but the impellers within are not; the E-engine impeller has a securing stud which goes transversely through the middle of the cylindrical shaft, rather than having a 'flat' side on the shaft.
My understanding was that the sourcing/fitting of this different water pump once the engine had arrived in Europe gave Yanmar a better deal on EU import duties. The other ball-ache was that while you could buy a 'rest of the world' pump direct from Johnson rather than Yanmar, Johnson were not able to sell the Euro version pump to anyone within the EU other than Yanmar - I bought and shipped a couple from the USA back to the UK for friends. - I don't know if that applies now that the UK is outside the EU, or if it applies to the impellers too? I suspect that the impellers must be OK, because I'm sure I recall buying at least one Jabsco impeller for our E-pump.

Also ASAP in Hamble, near the RYA. Check online first. Marine Power at Deacons Marina, Bursledon, on the Hamble has huge stocks of Yanmar original supplies.
