recommended Insurers

Hi - In preparation to hopefully purchasing a boat - Can anyone recommend a good Insurer, I am not looking for the cheapest nor the most expensive just an insurer that will stick by you if the worst (hopefully never) happens at a reasonable price.

They were very helpful with my recent purchase and new client application, which followed good reviews on here. Price was also very good.

I use Navigators and General via Nautical Insurance.

The Y policy is better is said to be better, however over the years I have claimed twice via Nautical Insurance and they have been simply amazing. This retains my loyalty.

I was hit by another boat this summer, so we will see how they handle that claim ( on the other persons insurance)

I have always used Bavaria Yacht Versicherung. They insure all over Europe. Very fair for pricing and I have in 9 years used them once and no problem at all. They paid me immediately after seeing photo of evidence. Good people - http://www.bavaria-ag.de/

Another vote for 'Y'.
I switched this year as a result of the lengthy thread on here, which identified the policy as being better than many and the price being very competitive. Last month I made my first (and hopefully last) claim on marine insurance and they were excellent. Very responsive and work authorisation turned round in quick time. Can't see that I will be anything other than a long term customer
