Can you please point me in the direction of any publication that gives information about:
Moorings
boatyards
Slipways
Chandlers
Parking
Clubs
Pubs & restaurants
with a focus on upstream of Oxford. And maybe a little bit down stream.
Thank you

Indeed and also draught is important.

I did Lechlade last summer (Just!) and the summer before that in one of my boats which is 3ft4 draught twin screw so about 1 metre but quite a wide metre.

Did drag the bottom here and there and was stopped by a bar across below Godstow at one point.

This year seems to be have been exceedingly dry and if that continues I think the upper reaches could be really quite shallow this summer.

I'll be up there again this summer but in a different boat which only draws about 2ft.

I’ve just been as far as Sandford.

Mine draws 0.9m and I only had 0.2 meters under the keel for most of the Abingdon-Sandford reach.

I would also recommend the, Heron Maps River Thames and the Thames Path map, and Imray Map of the River Thames. Both useful and informative.

Thank you for that. We are hoping to move later this year, and although I won’t have a boat for a year or two it’s pleasant to plan and imagine. I’m hoping to get a small cabin cruiser, though of course mooring is the constraint. I have a couple of ideas …
