I am taking a week trip up river next week starting and returning to Benson this weekend and have been given a recommendation of the pub by Rushey and wondered what the hive mind has as additional stops.

Abingdon has got to be worth a shout. You may even be able to meet up with Harry of this parish, would make for an entertaining evening.

The Trout at Tadpole?
the beer is always good, never had a bad meal there. Depending on you boat, watch the metal face of the moorings.

There are moorings above Godstow Lock and the Trout is great, can get very busy, so book. The moorings above the bridge can get a little noisy with traffic on the A34 if you’re staying overnight. The banks can be a little steep by the Abbey though, so watch your step if it’s wet.

Mooring at Eynsham Lock or in the fields above Swinford bridge, it’s a short walk to the Talbot, the pies are rather good, as is the beer.

The Rose at New Bridge is OK, but been a bit hit and miss on service of late, free moorings in the garden, or 4 quid in the field above the bridge. The Maybush has not long been renovated, but appears closed some days.

The Ferry at Boblockhythe is a little run down, but reasonable cheap pub grub and a decent pint, free moorings outside.

The Swan at Radcot is a great place for a drink, but I’d skip the food

The Plough at Kelmscot is well worth a visit and a short walk from some very secluded moorings

If you’re going as far as Lechlade, you can moor in the garden of the new inn, great food and no cows licking your windows at 05:00, which was our experience of mooring opposite.
There are EA moorings outside Riverside, but not many rings and few places you can put a pin as its plastic grass.
