Recommendations for mooring or berthing in Christchurch/Bournemouth or Gosport area

I am hoping to buy my own sailing boat later this year. Of course I want as much shelter, comfort and security as I can get but I cannot afford the high commercial marina fees. The easier the better too because I will want to do a fair bit of single-handed sailing.

Best areas for getting there are Christchurch/Bournemouth and Gosport.

My future boat is a used (read old) sail cruiser between 30 and 36ft, fin or long keel.
