Should also ask for claims experience, any insurer is only as good as their ability to support you in your hour of need, GJW do.

I voted Pantaenius. I have had a claim whilst insured with them. No problem at all. They suggested that I involve a surveyor which I did. The choice of surveyor was totally mine not even a suggestion from insurer as to who to use. I disclosed my choice. Pantaenious asked if he was YBDSA recognised. I confirmed that he was. They then said that they also would use same surveyor and that would save me paying his fees! They further asked if I needed an advance payment to cover any deposit required by repairer. The answer was No. Cannot fault their service.

I would be interested in what you base this statement on. I certainly can't pass an opinion on other companies but have been with Bishop Skinner 5 years and had one claim which was promptly met. In light of your statement I have again read through the policy very carefully and can see no exclusions which would cause me concern. I would find it useful if you gave an example of an exclusion in the Bishop Skinner policy which you think is unreasonable?

One day on, and about one-third are satisfied with GJW and another third by Pantaenius.... I'm hoping the numbers will swell as the days pass, so that something 'statistically significant' might emerge.

I should mention that my selection of contenders reflected my limited, not comprehensive, knowledge of providers. There may well be others worthy of consideration and support.
