I was going to write "rigger", but I don't really need any rigging done, just someone to go and sort out a windex and VHF antenna. I have a harness, ascenders, etc to go up myself, but as anyone who was on the Scuttlebutt Cruise will have seen, my personal power-to-weight ratio is not what it was 13 years ago when I last used this kind of kit. I know there are various other options (currently favouring the idea of a flexible ladder hoisted up the sail track) but it will take me a while to choose the best and get it in my hands, and in the meantime we really need this job done before the antenna gets damaged. Discussing it with my dad earlier today, he announced "sod it, I'll pay for a rigger to go and sort it out" - so, who should he contact?

Boat is at Kemp's Quay.

Cheers,

Pete

Sounds like someone needs to go on a course 'how to loose weight' ;)

Paul Carey, Swanwick. 07749 829539

He had just redone my standing rigging to Chrissie's exacting standards.

For the sake of fairness and transparancy, I did use Jerry the Rigger to replace my VHF Ariel a couple of years ago and I was happy with the job.

Just to close off this one - Paul Carey has just been and done the job. I wasn't there (some of us have to work for a living :) ) but my dad was very impressed and wants me to pass on his own recommendation. In particular that Paul was happy to pop round at very short notice, had the necessary bits to hand, and charged a very reasonable price indeed. I suspect we'll be using him for any future rigging work we need.

(I think I'm still going to get a Deffee mast ladder so I can be self-sufficient for small jobs in future, though.)

Cheers,

Pete
