I'm sure most would be pleased to copy your old rigging. I did this with a supplier in Southampton who usually visit the boat to measure up, but as I assured them that the rigging screws had at least half their adjustment left a copy was fine. I labelled each wire to make sure everything fitted exactly - the label was transferred to the copy as it was made.

I want to replace the above while I have the mast at home.
I came across a company that you sent the old rigging to and they copied it for you.
Unfortunately I have lost their details.
Any suggestions?

Done three boats now using z spars to make up the rigging. Either made to length or better still with swaged fittings at the top and sta lok at the bottom for me to fit. They are sensibly priced and reliable.

I used Eurospars in Plymouth. I used Jimmy Greens on line builder site, you pick the ends and the total length, load bearing part of the eye to eye or end of thread for measurement to check prices, they were both basically the same. I used Eurospars because I bought some Facnor bits as well.
14.26mtrs 8mm wire plus one eye end and a 1/2" UNF threaded stud swaged on, was £124 ish. The only killer was the postage, £25. The measurement thing worked ok.

I bought some rigging from a firm in Whitby (Coates?) good service and reasonable price.

Later I bought two backstays from a firm on the South Coast. Their man came and measured up for them. When they were delivered they were 6" short. They were replaced of course but two day's holiday was lost. I won't be buying from them again.

If you send yours off, make sure you get it back with the new ones. I had copies made by a reputable firm of the rigging on my wee Hunter and it came back al over the place. No two stays were the same length (it has inners and outers, so there should have been two pairs) and both forestay and backstay were too long, in one case by a metre. They didn't charge me, but as they had thrown the originals away, getting rigging the right length was an unnecessarily protracted business.

I have used Spencer Rigging in Southampton a few times to replace various running and standing rigging. They are very helpful and ready to help. Jay at Rigmasters is also reasonably priced, knowledgeable and ready to pick up or drop off at short notice. Performance Rigging have also helped me out a few times. My only bad experiences are with the Rig Shop in Saxon Wharf. It appears if you don't ask for the price first you can get stung. I had a quote online for a couple of spliced lines recently at £29 the pair, Rigmasters were £36 but as I was in the Rig Shop I asked them to make me a couple up thinking they would be in the same ball park but they charged me £85! Caveat Emptor!
