Rechargable kaput

My favourite rechargable drill is no longer working. Seems to be the trigger switch.
As a replacement is such a paltry sum it does not seem worthwhile trying to repair it. I assume the charger and batteries are O K so what can the combined brains of the forum come up with?

Buy another one the same and now you have two batteries. If the switch was just on /off you could possibly cobble something up. If it was progressive , you are right, get another one.

depending on voltage, some have added mods to allow them to run radios and small lights etc.
