For those that sail in those waters, my fishing chums tell me that these two areas have been affected the recent storms.
The Run has changed its character dramatically with one of the channel markers now sitting on a sandbank. One of the guys lost his prop on a previously safe area.
The Shingle Bank to the west of The Needles Channel has also grown an island off Totland, so I'm told, I've not had a chance to see it with my own eyes but will have a look at the weekend.
It wouldn't surprise me if a fair few other of the banks around this area have been moved given the high winds and seas we have seen over the past few weeks.
If the weather continues to be rough this could all change again, just as well it is too rough to go out....
