We hear so many stories about modern yoof .. Agressive, arrogant, Chavs, Essex Girls Etc that it is easy to think the next generation is a lost cause..

However I have occasion to have met a totally charming young chap who dispels that myth.. He has just acquired an old 20 Ft sailing boat in the boatyard and is doing it up to learn to sail. Being a young man, only 16, he is somewhat short of money and is looking for help where possible. Speaking with him he is a really pleasant. I am going to give him some spare bits I no longer need..

Dare I say it, but the majority of the present young generation are as good as any that have gone before. It is the headline-grabbing appalling behaviour of a small minority that distorts the reality.

I remember my parents being annoyed at the way some were condemning the younger generation in the 60s/70s. Seems it may have always been the same.
