I'm about to take apart our anchor winch which whilst it still works ok is starting to show signs of age; the bushes are all very worn / loose and I know spares are available. I don't think it has any meaningful ability to retain oil inside it which is probably not ideal!
I know some don't like these winches and the bicycle part construction is perhaps a bit crude however I'm not in the market for a replacement at the moment and the spares are available from Parts for Hyspeed 510 Windlass | Simpson Lawrence Yacht Parts & Spares
Any advice or feedback from someone who has done this recently would be great; I think the case is aluminium - any tips for good paint finishes which will be robust? What oil have people used in the past?
Thanks
