I always popping in Paul but just to read what these ECS have to say , it's bring back great memories hearing them talk about Deb, Orwell, Walton southwold but most of all the Alde , first time I sailed was there it was also the first time I went out in open sea not that we was plainning going out to sea , one min we was sailing with the tide ebbing , the next we too where out , we ended up on the shingle bank ank by the CG cottages and pulling the dinghy back in , tho where the days .
My children leaned to sail on the east coast rivers and as a family we had some great times .
There was non of this stuff about if you when around you needed to check your keel in them days as we was for ever going a ground in the sticky black mud of the Orwell as we tack back and fro .
Keep it up guys and glad to see your more civilised here then some of the other forums .
