If it's vinyl that you are after you can buy from their suppliers, MBS Ltd they say they are trade only but they will sell to the public. They are in Windsor, tel no 01753 854845.

What's the difference between a marine fabric and an ordinary one? Apart from the price.

Didn't know there was any difference.

There is no difference what so ever in the quality of fabrics in the marine / normal world, as you say just the price. As long as you use a good quality furnishing fabric you will be ok.

Vinyls are a little different, a good quality marine vinyl should have certain "uv properties". One of the main suppliers of vinyl to companies such as Sunseeker etc is a company called MBS Fabrics Ltd, who's initials interestingly stand for Motor Body Supplies according to George their delivery driver!

Being in the trade, so to speak. I use Porter Nicholson based on the borders of london/essex. As with anything you buy, you get what you pay for.

I thought that a marine fabric would be made a bit tougher than your average fabric as it has to cope with the dampness you get inside a boat. It probably is just the same type of fabric only with the marine label attached (as with everything else boat related) they just double the price.
