I`m moored in North holland for the winter as a live aboard and the last couple of nights the wind is pushing me against the pontoon so mt fenders resemble egg timers !!!!

Small waves in the harbour, lifting the boat a few inches causes creaks, groans & sqeeks of deafning proportions (not a lot of kip last night),

Mooring lines are wrapped in cloth but the creaking coupled with the canopy catching the gusts has to be heared to be believed

Any suggestions ???

What about trying to find a swinging mooring or anchor up for a day or two?

Best way I've found to stop fenders & lines squeeking is washing up liquid

What about trying to find a swinging mooring or anchor up for a day or two?

in high winds I wouldn't personally be leaving a safe (albeit noisy) mooring to anchor up and lose sleep for an entirely different reason.

Count yourself lucky,at least you're on your boat. Eventually the wind will die down and then you'll remember just why you are there. Pity us poor people having to put up with the comforts of our warm cosy houses! No boat,though (ours is laid-up in Friesland until temperatures rise again,thanks to the fair-weather crew).
May I also just say hi to David & Pat (desiderata). Pleased to hear from the Dutch tom toms that Pat has fared well since our paths crossed (John & Jill on Aqualibra).
