As most of the regulars on here will have noticed I recently purchased a boat (Sunseeker portofino 34)

I intend renaming her as the guy we bought her off had changed her from her original name of "Splash" to "Credit Crunch" reason being is that his financial circumstances forced him to take this boat in a part ex deal for his bigger Sunseeker with cash.

We would like a name which perhaps suits the shape of the boat my thoughts.... Bullit etc

Anyways any suggestions welcome good or bad?

Over to you.....................

I think you should call it

FELIX

because I have some spare vinyl names kicking around I could let you have cheap /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hows that for a great sales pitch /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Depends if you want to pt 1 register it. If you do, your problem will be finding a name that's not already taken. If you don't, call it Splash, Bullit, or whatever you called the last one, assuming of course that you liked that name.

I'm really superstitious about changing boat names, and so have never renamed any boat we've owned. That said, if I ever bought an unnamed (I guess the implies new) boat, I always said I would pick on the album titles from the band "The Pixies" - not just because I was once a fan, but they're great names for boats IMO;

- Bossanova
- Surfer Rosa (translation = red surfer)
- Doolittle
- Trompe le Monde (translation = fool the world)
- Wave of Mutilation (this would have the raggies up in arms!)

That aside, there was a yacht on the Hamble called "Rogan Josh" which I thought was really good, and could pick many other Indian dishes that could work. I guess the owner is called Josh though /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Another one for me would be something StarWars'y - there's a boat in Port Solent called "Jedi" which is also a good name IMO.

There you have it, music, food and films....perfect inspiration for a boat name... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

my kids stimulate me to find " mistique" names,
our previous boat was called "Erebus", same as the boat in "Apocalypse now"
Our actual boat is called "Eagir" I was immediatly seduced when I saw the picture of the myth god with long hears, surrounded by 8 naked young girls /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
(which are in fact his daughters)

"Small Change" "Knotalot" "Cheapaschips" Nickedit"

lets face it you really got a bargain there, and I'm only a tad green, 'onest /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

very nice boat.

but as someone said not long ago, "absolutely valueless" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
