with our additions and modifications almost complete.
But a very expensive winter refit. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The sugar scoop is great and looks original, except it's a better shape, I hope. The new windscreen is as yet unglazed, and we are now pushing for a new sprayhood to fit to it.
Our Navman wind direction/speed instrument is still non-functioning, but the rest work OK. The water pressure pump cannot seem to pressurize the domestic water system and just keeps running, although I cannot find a leak (yet), but the final repair will have to wait until the new water tank comes; hopefully before we go on holiday /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The boat looks lovely where we have been able to clean and polish, but the decks are still covered with Dell Quay dust and grit, and will get a pressure washing as soon as I can find the time.
But it was WONDERFUL to sail back from Chi Harbour to Portsmouth on a flat sea with not very much wind, and not very much sun ( so that HWMBO didn't overheat), and then as we entered the harbour the sun came out strongly and the whole place looked beautiful.
Portsmouth looking beautiful.............................. just shows how a six-month spell in a boatyard can affect ones judgement /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
When I was ready to start the engine, I just turned it over with the throttle closed to stir up the oil. And it started immediately. After 6 months of standing idle!!!! Now in my book, that is impressive!!
Now all we have to do is complete the unfinished tasks, buy a new liferaft, new flares, sort out the lappie chartplotter, the AIS engine (Nasa; we didn't know of Tome's opinion of them when we bought it) and begin the summer sailing season.
So when is the next Cherbourg trip planned? We are a bit short on wine /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
