I'm re-furbishing a Lofrans Royale Windlass and need to get a few new parts. I've been in touch with E.C.Smith who told me that it was very difficult to obtain parts from Lofrans since they have been taken over by another company. I also contacted Lofrans in Italy and was asked to send details of me and the parts I required, however, 2 months have passed and I've had no further contact from them. The main parts I need are the nylon sleeves that go on the shaft in various places also an operating handle. Any idea where I could source these? As a fall back I'm considering getting the sleeves turned on a lathe which shouldn't be too difficult as it's just a 3" approx length which would have to be turned to correct inside and outside diameters and a stub flange left. Any suggestions for suitable material?
