I recently purchased an old steel hull & deck / wooden coachroof Dutch built yacht. The plan is to tidy her up and get some further sailing experience with the family before setting our sights higher / further afield.
I have had her surveyed and she is fundamentally sound but requires some hard work in the cosmetics department! She was purchased with this in mind....
I am looking for some "ball park" figures / info relating to some re-fit / tidy up work I am considering for next year:
1. I am considering moving the cockpit hatch back to its original centreline position (it was moved to the starboard side of the coach for some reason or another by a previous owner) - wooden coachroof. I would also like to install a better hatch cover / garage.
2. Install a proper Navigation table
3. Install a pilot berth
4. Install additional storage in the aft end
As a "newbie" I am hunting around for advice / information on the best step forward and also potential costings.
She is currently located in South Wales.
I would appreciate any direction / detals of shipwrights etc if possible please.
Many thanks
Paul
