There are those who understand their boat's engine and maintain it properly.

And there are those who are just conscious that an Infernal machine lurks beneath the companion ladder...

Fortunately the Volvo MD2 is almost idiot proof.

Distracted by a small boy (mother's day off...) I set about laying up the engine.

Run up to temperature, ensuring that the thermostat is open by checking temperature of the housing...check.

Change oil..check

restart engine...and forget to ensure that thermostat is open before adding antifreeze... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

result, engine cooling circuit full of best tap water and two litres of antifreeze straight through the exhaust!

every so often, the database behind the forums gets a bit busted, and attaches new posts to old threads, or sends replies off on their own as a new thread

If you see it happen, just hit the notify moderator button on the post in question, and they can fix the problem
