Re-arm Kits for Lifejackets

Hi Guys

Are the rearm kits universal? E.g. Would a Seago kit fit an XM Quckfit lifejacket?

Cheers

Pete

No, not universal and not specific to a particular lifejacket-maker.

There are two things you need to know - the size of the CO2 cylinder e.g. 20gm, 38gm etc. and the kind of auto-capsule e.g. Halkey Roberts, United Moulders or Hammar.

See what is written on the ones you have, then (as is so often the case) Google is your friend.

As Alan says.. Check the cylinder weight (size) and the type of actuator.. If you're lucky you'll find they are one of the common ones..

Greenhams.. Yikes £20 for a re-arming cylinder and choice of three clips... http://www.greenham.com/c/pl/129303/Rearming-Kit-For-Automatic-Lifejacket-1590

33gm cylinder here at Aspli, also with three clips for £5.64 ... http://www.aspli.com/products/1615/re-arming-pack-for-a36-lifejacket-(manual)

Take this second link then go back through the menus and you will see the options for actuators e.g. United Moulders or Halkey Roberts Bobbin. If yours is a Hammar (i.e. dependent on water pressure for activation) then they could be a little more expensive to renew.

Hope this helps. (No relation to Aspli but have ordered from them in the past and been happy with their next day delivery).
