The T̶u̶r̶b̶o̶ ̶3̶6̶ RCC Xmas cruise was this weekend, and a very pleasant trip it was too.
Saturday was a tad wet, with added wetness, punctuated only by bouts of rain but even the weather couldn't dampen the spirits of RCC

Once at our destination at Allington, due to a tactical error by my crew, our boat was selected as party boat and 15 people duly filed in.
Delicious hot mulled wine & mince pies provided by OG and crew were eagerly devoured and many crumbs ground in to our long suffering carpet.
A surprisingly good evening meal at the Malta was enjoyed afterwards, a drop or two of alcohol consumed and a peaceful night followed with only the very occasional muffled expletive ringing out over the mirrored waters as reluctant eberspachers were cajoled into life.

Sunday dawned bright and clear

And the opportunity was seized for a quick run up to Maidstone.
Proof that the sun always shines on T36's ;)

The usual efficient lock-out, and an uneventful trip back down river although headroom under Aylesford bridge was a little tight.

A very rare image of Nessie's little known cousin, "Meddie."

All in all, another fantastic weekend in the company of RCC :)

Quick snap illustrating why you really can't approach the lock at the wrong time (unless you have a hovercraft,) this was at LW+2

And a couple of general snaps:

Well done Chris, some nice shots and thanks to your good self and Mrs Murv for being such good hosts.
50% of the boats in the pix are ex Thames.
Feel sure that if any other clubs on any other rivers need any help or advice about going boating during the other 11 months of the year apart from August,we can be contacted.
Thanks for Tim and Steve at the lock for standing in rain. :)
Typical unhelpful tide variations on Saturday and Sunday, slow to come in on the way up and early on the way back.
Did cut the bridge timing a teeny weeny bit tight this time.
Next run out "The Icebreaker" on NYD.
