As most of you know club always tries to have a year round cruising calendar and this year our club trip up to Allington Lock, went ahead as usual.
A good heater is vital and somewhere to plug in your shorepower is a bonus. We all ended rafted up on the Allington Castle moorings except one boat who managed to squeeze into a spare berth on the lock moorings. Thanks to Johnathon at Allington Castle and to Tim and Steve and all the lock staff who stood in the rain and locked us all through.
Our usual venue for the evening get together would have been the Malta but having been underwhelmed in the past by the tired decor, the food, the prices and the awful service, were once again let down by their alleged booking system.
Ended up just round the corner in the The Village Hotel,a total contrast to our previous proposed venue.
Sunday arrived bright and clear and suprisingly mild, made for a very pleasant trip back.
Next event "The IceBreaker" on New years Day.
Waiting for the tide.......
