With added wind.!
Every year RCC holds a joint weekend cruise along with the Rochester Oyster and Floating Fishery to beat the bound the bounds of the fishery.
ROFF holds a royal charter dating back to before the 1500s to manage and work the upper and lower Medway and the fish stocks within its bounderies.
Saturday we head off up river to the ancient boundary marked by the Hawkwood Stone, meeting representatives of several upper Medway boat clubs who join us for a return back down river for a fish supper and few drinks.

Sunday finds us all heading downstream firing our ceremonial cannons as we pass local boat clubs and marinas, some of whom return fire.
Point of interest was our 45 boats meeting at Upnor a sailing boat or two.
Both MYC and Wilsonians YC had also picked that day to hold a racing regatta.
First stop is the site of the wreck of HMS Bulwark where a wreath laying ceremony is held.

Then on out to the SS Richard Montgomery for brief and somewhat lively last post courtesy of freshening westerly

Back into Queenborough to meet the local Mayor and a little lunch. It is customary to offer the gathered mayors and dignatories some refreshment as they are obliged to visit all the boats who have taken part in the cruise.

Interesting to watch a small sea plane practising touch and go in the nearbye Swale.

We all end up back at Rochester for the sunset ceremony presided over by the folks from Rochester Cathedral which is again followed by light buffet and more refreshments.

It was an interesting cruise for me going home, meeting 45 RCC boats cutting the corner to pass Touchstone whilst dodging the MYC sailing boats who are racing so will not move at any cost
I was on and off the throttle my poor Puzzler wondered what was going on!
