Our big event over weekend with a beating of the bounds.Breezy going up river on the Saturday,but at least we were sheltered from the wind by river banks.Met up with a group of boats coming down from Allington.
Sunday started OK but wind was rising all the time and by time our little flottila of 50 or so boats got to Sheerness it was time for a change of plans,trying to moor in Queenborough proved difficult so it was time to retreat back to Rochester.
Mrs OG lost three glasses of PFG.
The Admirals Barge.Last one back buys the drinks

H,mm,looks abit inclement out there !

For those with a liking for tradition at the end of the day we have a sunset ceremony ,including a piper, two buglers,the entire Admirals court,the Mayors of Rochester and Queenborough along with the Chamberlain of the Oyster Fishery.
Short service from a member of the Cathedral clergy ensures rather a touching end to the day reminding all of us lucky enough to work and play on the water of the sacrifices some people made in the past.
