My Raymarine C80 chartplotter needed an antenna. I preferred to use the Raystar 125 since It plugs into the Seatalk 1 socket leaving the NMEA socket clear. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to source a RS125 but a brand new R/S130 came up on eBay which I purchased cheaply today.

The Raystar 130 uses Seatalk NG or NMEA ( I fully admit to knowing little of what I’m spouting here) but understand It’s possible to convert the Seatalk NG to Seatalk 1 by purchasing a converter kit. The kit cost +/- £140 and I’m wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper solution? Essentially I just want to plug the RS130 into the Seatalk 1 socket and have it working! Any thoughts or is it impossible?

Thanks in advance.

How desperate are you? I have a no longer required Raystar 125 (I assume it is as it was attached to a C70 plotter, since replaced). But it is still wired on board. I was planning to remove it later this year, possibly during our summer cruise. So it won't be available until August.

RS130 not compatible with SeaTalk1. Which is why the older models are extremely sought after on the used market. They do pop up on eBay occasionally.
