I have an A65 mounted in the cockpit which is removed when we leave the boat. This leaves the power and GPS leads unprotected. I asked Raymarine if I could obtain spare male plugs to seal the ends when not in use. They said they do not supply them as parts but they are Molex plugs. I cant find anything like them in Maplins or other Molex stockists. Any ideas as to how best to protect the exposed plugs?

Hi , I suggest you go back to Raymarine and ask them for the full Molex part # for the male plugs or if they don't know then the # for the female sockets, then email Molex UK ( check www.molex.com ) and ask them for their part # for the male plug and which of their distributors would stock them . ( Farnell , Arrow or RS Components would be good as they accept credit card sales )

good luck !

Have the same problem and have been using the fingers of rubber gloves used by mechanics cheap easy and when pulled over plugs form there own seal.

We use condoms (usually new ones) to protect the plugs.
