Only two cables from the drive unit to the control unit, as long as you don't reverse polarity it's OK - don't remember if the plugs are the same.
Seem to remember that you need to make new holes to fix drive unit to the pedestal.

You may find the Mk II is a bit flimsier than the Mk I, although perhaps nicer looking.

Hi jwilson, the MKI has been really great and exceeded my expectations. Last summer it did the helming from Croatia to Gibraltar, most of it with one of the internal pulleys broken! I'm afraid it is so pached up it is beyond repair unfortunatelly.
