Raymarine st7000 control head failed?

When I power up the autopilot there is power at the computer both on the seatalk bus. and full power supply for computer. There is also power at the seatalk cable joint just before the control head but the instrument fails to bleep or display. I can't check the data cable (yellow) at that point. Is there a simple test I can use to see if the unit is faulty or is the failure to display pointing to a fault in the data stream? Any advice gratefully received.

Can you check whether there's power at the plug which actually connects to the control head?

Try connecting it to a different seatalk junction - also look on ebay for Raymarine
