Raymarine ST6001+ control head

My unit circa 2003 is working but the lens is blackening . This may be connected to a short I had last year which fried the tridata . I am told that the model has not been produced for some years and that the present series would not work with my present course computer . The suggestion is a new system [wow the cost] . Does any one know of one of these units lying on a shelf somewhere from the distant [in IT terms] past . Or have any other suggestions . I return to UK in a few weeks time but next year have an Indian Ocean and Aatlantic crossing to undertake .

Try eBay. Usually a good few floating around.

I sold one on eBay about six months ago and it went for about 50% more than I paid for it a few years earlier. A lot of the ST60 range are in heavy demand on eBay because most people don't want the hassle of upgrading to the new instruments and network protocol.
