I have a ray marine st6000 autopilot which has worked very well up until Recently.

When I turn on the autopilot it kicks back to standby after a few seconds. How do I trouble shoot this?

That's usually a fault with the drive not engaging which could be anything from a faulty course computer, power supply, drive clutch or jammed drive / steering.

When my pump packed up on this system it did this, I replaced the pump and it worked ok.
I bought a pump from coastal rides on EBay, it was a lot cheaper than some of the non branded wing wang equivalents. This was what I bought fir my system, still listed on eBay. Though it may be smaller than yore unit.

Thanks. I have just discovered I have a leak in my steering system. When I bleed it with the autohelm system. Do I just bleed it normally or is there something else I need to do?

I think I only had to fill the system at the helm then bleed the two nipples on the steering ram.
The pumps require a specific fluid so check the specs on the fluid you top up with.
