For the last couple of months my ST6000 compass heading has been wrong by about 150degrees.
I've no idea what made it suddenly display an incorrect heading but it did.
I've been meaning to calibrate it by following the Raymarine procedure each time I've gon for a trip out but kept forgetting to dig out the written instructions.
Anyway, yesterday I thought I would go through the calibraion process and got set to go out for a short trip but when I switched on teh instruments I found the autopilot was displaying the correct heading. I switched it on and off several times and but it continued to display correctly which I was very pleased about because I was fearing the worst, and half expecting a dodgy fluxgate compass or something similar.
What the likely cause of this (now corrected) problem? Is it likely to re-occur?
