I have a failing ST60 Tridata (displays OK but absolutely won't go into calibration mode) and have a choice of a "new old stock" ST60+ or a used ST60 for similar money. It's one of four ST60s in a row, so the used replacement would look neater, but a new unit is obviously better.

Does the ST60+ fit exactly the same hole as the ST60 ? I know the Seatalk 1 connections are the same. At some point I'll probably change ALL instruments but not this year !

Yes, same hole. 90mm diameter. Just swap out.

What happens when you press and hold the depth & speed buttons together for 2 seconds?

Absolutely nothing, tried many dozens of times, including longer and longer simultaneous presses. Each individual button does it's job, just won't go in to any of the calibration modes. It used to work - I like the depth set to below keel and it's not any more, also the speed calibration is all wrong.

How bizarre. The EEPROM (a sort of memory chip) in mine went wonky a few years ago and I found a Chinese supplier online, bought 5 of them (minimum order) and soldered one in to regain a working ST60 tridata device - although my log reading restarted from zero! But no good reason to believe your problem would be the same. Certainly next to useless if you can’t calibrate it.
