We installed an ex-demo ST40 wind instrument a year or so ago and it's never worked. The install was complicated by not doing it all at once. The boat yard put the transducer on the mast while they were doing something else and I finally got round to fitting the head unit about 3 months later. Anyway...

it powers up but just shows '--' for windspeed and the direction fixed in one direction. The rotovector is spinning ok and I understand it's hard-wired directly. I've tried the calibration cycles but still the same.

Any ideas anyone? keep trying to ring Raymarine but can't get through. Is there a something I can check on the signal cables (resistance perhaps)?

cheers

Try rebooting it, it should be in the instructions. A far as I remember you turn off the power, hold a key down, turn the power on and release the key but check that I can't remember which key. If that doesn't work it may be an installation problem or the transducer doesn't work.
