Went to use the Autohelm today.. plugged it in and it worked fine.
Finished with autohelm, unplugged and managed to completely rip the cables from the plug! The plug has a waterproof restrainer, and a plug which has a toothed restraining ring which prevents the plug inner assembly coming detached from the body of the plug. On inspection the ring assembly was still in the box, and had apparently come off the plug body, presumably because it was not properly assembled when manufactured last year when I bought the ST 2000.
If you have either the ST1000 or 2000 look at the pin end of the plug assembly and ensure that in the ring assembly is screwed tightly down against the inner plug body assembly!

Now you know why one NEVER pulls a plug out of its socket by the cable. ALWAYS hold the plug NOT the cable. The clamps are only cable retainers.
