Anyone know what type of external alarm would be compatible with the above. It's the old type with the push in connections and clip on plastic cover. It has two terminals labelled external alarm. I'm hoping one of the cheap piezo devices would work.

out of curiosity, what is the alarm for? lost connection or something internal to the bus or actual alarms setup somehow/somewhere (most likely MFD)?

NMEA alarm, various things arrival, depth, XTE, running out of beer.
OK most make sense, I could with a bit of effort setup an alarm for when fridge temp is off bounds, but running out of beer is really hard, well done :p

on a serious note, assuming you do have an mfd (else not much point getting the device in the first place) it will be replicating the noises made on the MFD, so I guess you'll have that beeper installed away from the MFD, right?

I don't have anything as modern as an MFD just a plotter and ST60 set up. The multi has an alarm but as I'll be doing a bit of single handed night sailing this season so I thought I'd rig something a bit louder.
