I'm adding a ST60 wind instrument to my existing ST60 Autopilot/Tridata/E120 suite (circa 2006) and have run out of ports in the saloon station. I notice Fairline have used small spades to connect to one of the ports on the Tridata and I was thinking about piggy backing the Wind Instrument feed on to that, I already have the R/marine cable with moulded connectors at each end. So the question is, is there a limit to how may Seatalk connections you can make to the network? I've checked FAQ's on Raymarine, can't find anything and I don't want to contact them as I think I know what the answer will be!
All contributions gratefully received, as always.

There is officially a limit, but it's very high. Something like 30 devices, I think? More about the power supply than the data capacity.

Seatalk is very flexible in terms of topology, you can pretty much branch off or daisy-chain wherever's convenient. Personally I would break into the wire rather than use piggy-back spades (not sure if that's what you meant) but that's just for neatness. Seatalk will be happy with either.

Thanks so much Pete much as I thought I just didn't want to blow the whole system, I will solder the Sealtalk cable to the connections that Fairline made. Sorry to take so long in acknowledging your speedy response, my internet went down, but that's another story|
Regards and renewed thanks

Now you tell me! I've done it now and it works fine would have been difficult for me to get as I am in Tuscany currently, great input thanks to all.
