Raymarine SeaTalk-NMEA Interface (E85001) no NMEA output?

I have a SeaTalk-NMEA Interface, model E85001. I have wired it as per the diagram on page 10 of the manual (image ref: D1771-2) with Seatalk as input. The Seatalk LED lights up, and there seems to be data on the RS232 output, but none on the NMEA output.

Any suggestions?

Discconnet the device and check that NMEA is being exchanged with the rest of the devices ?

What are you using to check the NMEA output? It seems odd to me that the RS232 o/p is working but not the NMEA o/p. I would have thought they were pretty much 'in parallel'.

You could also feed the NMEA <u>input</u> with something (GPS maybe?) and check whether that is fed throught to the NMEA o/p - just in case the Seatalk data isn't being converted for some reason (you did say you could see data on the RS232 o/p but you didn't say how you checked this).

It \'may\' be faulty

I'm on my second seatalk/nmea interface. The first was fine until one day I noticed I'd lost nmea data to my repeater. Same symptoms as yours - seatalk/rs232 fine but no nmea. Was out of warranty so just bought a new one - all fine again. Keep an eye on eBay, they come up here fairly frequently...
