Raymarine Sea Talk and nmea (B&G)

I have a B&G log and wind instruments connected to a Triton 2 multifunction display. I would like to install a Raymarine Axon plotter to my current set up. Everything I’ve read with the right converters they all should talk to each other - there is the theory, anyone has anyone tried this for real?

Your current stuff is NMEA2k and the Axiom is STNG which is NMEA2k with different connectors. You can buy a cable from Raymarine which will connect the two without converters, it's NMEA2k to STNG just make sure you get the right cable as there are a few variations. You'll need a backbone too, and you'll need to decide whether you want an NMEA2k one or a STNG one based on what you think you'll add in future. It makes no difference either way as they are compatible, just that cabling can get expensive

Axiom+ and Axiom Pro Plotters are actually N2K and come with a converter cable to connect to STng. Simply miss out the converter cable and connect to your current N2K system.
