The GPS outputs NMEA, so it needs to be connected to the NMEA socket. Only Raymarine equipment speaks SeaTalk1.

Thanks.
Basically 2nd system to back up even more ancient Simrad CP33 which has tiny weeny screen.
Obviously foregone conclusion that my recently updated Simrad chart card will not function in any Raymarine plotter. ?

It's the type of physical card and the format of the chart data on it that matters, not the make of the plotter.

I'm not entirely familiar with either unit, but a quick google suggests that they do both use C-Map. If the card is physically the same (I believe C-Map of that era used their own proprietary package?) then there's a pretty good chance it will be compatible.

Use the NMEA "in" wires which in the RL80C are bundled in with the power cable cord. Connect these to to NMEA "out" wires from the Evermore.
