Anyone know what happened to these?

I wanted to (finally) get one so I could have a portable handheld GPS jobbie to use in the dink/dinghy/car that used exactly the same Navionics charts I have in the E80 and blow me down I can't find one anywhere. They seemed to be advertised in the mags until summer-ish but now nuffink, not even on the Raymarine site. Is it dead and gorn forever or any rumours of a replacement?

If not, anyone know/recommend another handheld GPS that uses Navionics so I don't have to go out duplicating all me bluidy UK and US charts?

Thanks

Neil

Dead and gorn...

Raymarine discontinued it ages ago. But the good news is that it wasn't a Raymarine unit, it was a re-badged Geonav 4C, which you can still buy. (Or look at eBay for a used RC400).

Re: Dead and gorn...

Thanks pvb - I just kept seeing them in the mag adverts and didn't think any further about it until recently. Couldn't find any on ebay when I looked. The only thing I didn't like about it was it didn't have a USB link but was willing to forego that for the charts.

I was looking at Geonav 'cos they are the only other Navionics CF format handheld (not surprising really /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) and they've recently announced a new 3S model, which I'll have a look at.

Cheers

Neil
