Raymarine Raystar seatalk GPS

One for the techies out there.
I've got a RM raystar gps conected to a network of RM equip. Can I install a second gps areal using a multi pole switch, so if one goes down I can quickly switch to the other. If so does all the wires need to be switched or just the +VE to both units.

If the equipment is using a common -ve (battery -ve) then yes, only +ve needs to be switched with a single pole changeover switch.

If you can get a double pole changeover switch, then that would be OK as well, as you can completely isolated both units.

Don't know if it helps, but when I installed the Raymarine Lifetag they recommended a double pole switch and to switch the +ve (red) and the data (yellow) to isolate it.

On seatalk the yellow and the black carry data - so I've been told.
