Does anybody have any experience of Raymarine's Lifetag MOB system - thinking about getting one fitted and wondered if anybody had any opinions as to how well the system works.

Many thanks

Hi Captn
I'm about to supply a Life Tag system for demo at my local RYA school (hey, I know we're on the Thames but !!!!)
I think Life Tag will should be an essential bit of safety kit - but i sell them!
Please give me a shout if you'd like one...

I am interested in one of these as well.

Most of the time there are just the two of us on the boat with SMBO often out of site for ten minutes or more making tea etc. Hence if she dis go overboard I could be a long way away before I realised.

Seems a simply bit of kist with a major saftey benefit to me.

Now our boy can crawl and by next season will probably be walking we'll definitely buy the system. Only weakness seems to be that it looks like the wristband needs a battery or needs charging, so always the possibility the battery is flat when you need it.

I'm surprised they couldn't use a passive tag for the remotes, something like the Recco system used by off piste skiers.

DaveHMS, I don't run the forum so this is only my opinion, but dealers tend to be welcomed if they contribute generally to the forum, less so if they only post to try and make a sale. Why not join in a bit on some other topics?

i haver one of these fitted and belive its a good safety kit to have.
u will need to check its compatibility with other kit on yr boat if u r having it integrated on yr existing displays etc as i know there was a conflict and we had to have another interphase frm raymarine supplied to resolve it.
other than that its a superb piece of kit and well priced too. there is another system i believe which runs like an independant system but dont know its reliablity etc.
also imp is the size of theboat as these still have a limited range and we have had alarms go off when the tag is taken to the extreme end of our boat.
pm should u need more details
