Raymarine GPS

We have two Raymarine GPS antenna/receivers, one connected to the E80 plotter and the other (2009) for the AIS. The former is I believe original and therefore could be around 14 years old.
I have noticed over time that on start up the plotter takes longer and longer to obtain a 'fix', (around five minutes recently) and usually I have to apply 'restart GPS' option. After obtaining a fix it remains locked on, at least up to now.

Anyone had a similar problem and if so what was the solution?

The GPS receiver, RS120 or RS125, needs a new battery. CR2032.

The Raystar 120 needs a bit of soldering but the 125 is a push fit although both are fiddly.

Do a forum search for full details of both.

If you have a Raystar 120/125 GPS Sensor, failure of the internal battery will cause this. The battery is a standard CR2032 Lithium battery.

Thank you for the help. I think mine are a 120 and 125 based on the equipment age etc. As I will have to access the radar mast to get at them I will change both.
